O-Bar-O Cabins strives to have the cleanest and most luxurious accommodations in Durango. We want to be your home away from home and experience all that we have to offer! Enjoy your stay but please be mindful there are Guests coming in after you that also expect a clean and luxurious environment.
Missing items; excessive soiling; or damage to furniture, linens, carpets, and other property will be assessed and then billed to the customer at our replacement cost, which may include labor costs. We will always try to be transparent in our communication about damage to cabins. Unapproved, late checkouts may be subject to additional fees.

All reservations are subject to availability.
Guests are responsible for payment for all days reserved.
At O-Bar-O we understand situations arise making cancellations unavoidable. However, last minute cancellations are difficult to fill as our guests reserve stays far in advance.
Our policy applies to cancellations for any reason unless you have purchased our travel protection, including flight delays or cancellations, road closures, inclement weather, sickness, or other medical emergencies, or any other reason outside of O-Bar-O’s control. We have created these cancellation policies with fairness for all in mind:
If you must CANCEL your Cabin reservation, please call us 30 days in advance of your arrival date. You will receive a refund of your deposit, less a $75 cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 30 days notice, we will retain your deposit and charge a $75 cancellation fee. If you cancel within 14 days prior to your arrival, you will be responsible for the entire reservation payment plus a $75 cancellation fee. (Unless you choose Travel Protection!)
If you need to POSTPONE your Cabin Reservation, please contact us as soon as possible, and no later than 14 days in advance of your arrival. We will carry your deposit forward to another reservation date that is available. We are unable to postpone reservations (carry deposits forward) within that 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival — it’s just too hard to fill the empty cabins. So let us know ASAP (and certainly 14 days prior) about any plan changes.
Multiple Cabin Bookings require a 60 day cancellation notice — including family reunions, and for holidays and special events. This applies regardless if one person pays for all of the cabins or each cabin is paid individually. If canceled 60 days prior to your arrival date, you will receive a refund less a $75 cancellation fee PER CABIN canceled. If you want to postpone your multi-cabin reservation, we will need 60 days notice to carry your deposit forward to the rebooking at no charge.
If you shorten your stay or check out early no refund will be issued.
Rates/policies are subject to change and may vary during high impact periods and special requests.
You may choose our Travel Protection Plan through our Reservation System Travel Protection Program. This option is designed to provide you peace of mind in case unexpected circumstances prevent you from attending or completing your booking – up to 14 days prior to your arrival or during your stay. We offer a 100% reimbursement of your booking value, excluding our Travel Protection fee for the following:
• Unforeseen illness or health condition
• Adverse weather event involving rain or snow
• Other Unexpected Travel and Transportation Delay
It is important to note that the date range for eligibility depends on the specific reimbursement condition and request. Additionally, evidence is required to process your reimbursement (requested documentation will vary).
Please bear in mind that our Travel Protection Plan is not an insurance policy but rather an extension of our standard Terms & Conditions. By purchasing this upgrade, you are ensuring coverage for the defined circumstances mentioned above. You have up to 30 days after your departure date to apply for reimbursement.
Accommodation fees apply for groups reserving 4 or more cabins. Please call for policies and pricing.
Groups reserving three or more cabins are required to pay a damage deposit of $200 per cabin due at the time balance is paid. Your damage deposit will be refunded to you within one week of departure if your cabins, decks and the grounds are left in satisfactory condition. The Accommodation fee is separate from the damage deposit.
Reservations are strongly suggested. An advance payment of one night’s stay is required at the time of reservation. The balance of payment will be due upon arrival. If you would like to pay in full in advance, that is fine too. Payment will be processed at 6PM the day of scheduled arrival using the card given for the deposit. Sometimes, last minute cabins may be available. When making reservations, please specify the exact dates of arrival and departure as well as the number of guests in your party. State and local taxes are not included in quoted prices.
Occupancy rates are based on 2 Guests for Birdsnest, Creekside & Chipmunk and 4 Guests for Riverview, Columbine, Hummingbird, Bluespruce, Aspen & Ponderosa. Some cabins can accommodate up to 6 Guests. Each extra registered person charge is $30 per day (age two and over). For the comfort of our registered Guests any unregistered Guests will be charged $100 per day, per person.
There are minimum night stays required. Check the availability calendar for information. If your initial dates are reserved, simply email or call for availability or if you would like to be contacted in the event of a cancellation – we keep an active waiting list.
All cabins have fully equipped kitchens and views out picture windows that face the river. All cabins have either a stone gas fireplace or freestanding gas stove. Cabins feature covered porches or redwood decks or flagstone patios. For the comfort of our guests, O-Bar-O is a smoke free property.

Some of our extra health and safety protocol include:
• While we pride ourselves on being as kind to the environment as possible, right now, we are using only cleaning products approved for the Hospitality Industry by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
• Hand sanitizer is available in every cabin as well as in our office. The sanitizer is made locally in Durango by Honeyville and is called “Bear-y Clean”. This sanitizer is also available for purchase in our gift shop.
Please call us at 970.259.3649 or email us so we can answer your questions.
Our grocery stores (City Market, Albertsons, Wal-Mart, and Nature’s Oasis) all accept online ordering. Order before you arrive and pick up or we can pick up for you!
Our housekeeping (or cabin-keeping) team is amazing. Each person goes through an extensive training on cleaning expectations and presentation of every cabin. We do not add any service charge to your bill or amenity fees. Tips for our team are greatly appreciated if you feel they have added positively to your experience.

Ours is Free! Every cabin has a reserved parking space. Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing more than one vehicle or a trailer.
Durango is located at 6,522 feet above sea level, and O-Bar-O is at 7,600ft. We find the best way to enjoy the high altitude is to remain hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Our high-altitude climate tends to fluctuate significantly day-to-day, so be sure to bring appropriate clothing with you. No matter when you are visiting, it is a good idea to bring plenty of warm layers and a rain/snow-proof shell.
O-Bar-O is incredibly welcoming to dogs – we absolutely adore them! While O-Bar-O is a great spot for dogs, Pearl says it’s not suitable for cats of any kind. For a list of our dog friendly cabins and O-Bark-O Dog policy, please see our Dog Friendly Cabin Information below.
O-Bar-O is pleased to offer our guests a 10% discount at Durango Hot Springs, located in the beautiful Animas Valley. They have towels available there, so no need to bring your O-Bar-O towels or robes. That way your towels remain here for use in your cabin!
When available, we would love to show you around the property.
O-Bar-O does not offer transportation to/from the airport. There are taxi services available. Please search Google and plan ahead.
O-Bar-O does not offer room service, but we do offer food packages and fill the fridge options.
The good news is that we have abundant wildlife here in the Florida River Valley! There are binoculars and a book on Colorado Birds & Mammals in your cabin to help you enjoy and learn more. (There are also books on Colorado Wildflowers and Fish!)
Keep your cabin doors closed at night to avoid any unwanted guests in your cabin. If you have any trouble, please let us know ASAP!
Grin and BEAR it!
Seeing a bear will put a smile on your face, but remember, bears are wild animals. They may seem really cute or even docile, but you don’t want to find out otherwise. Observe them from afar (use your zoom camera setting) and give them space. For more information on bears, visit Durango’s really cool Bear Smart website — bearsmartdurango.org
